Message headgasket failure I wouldn't think. More likely you developed a rod knock and since you kept driving, it prolly came apart and put ya a nice lil whole in the block just as toykoz32 said. If that is the case, you may as well just get a new short block cause I'm willing to bet that yours is not salvagable. Stay away from "JDM" imported motors, I went that route once and had bent rods less than 50 days later. You could buy from many vendors, but I think Kyle @ IPP is probly the best route for most as far as rebuilt short blocks go.

The overall condition and sentimental value of your car will determine what will be the best option for you. If your car is crappy/salvage title/abused/ect or you just plain hate it, sell it and buy a replacement. If the car is clean inside and out and you want to keep it on the road, id start sourcing a replacement motor. And I know its expensive, but if you do replace the motor, you should do as much prevenative maitanance as you possibly can. And be sure to 1st properly diagnose your current problem before you go pullin motors. 1st id inspect visually looking for things like rods hanging out of the block. This should be very obvious if present. You could also try to turn the motor by hand to make sure its not locked up and check ecu for codes, although I don't think there is a code for rotating assembly failure.

A Different Z for each day of the week..
